Here at the Vincennes – Knox County VTB, we love our pets. We would do anything for our animals and take them anywhere and everywhere we could; we know many of our visitors feel the same way! Luckily, when you visit Vincennes YOU CAN bring your pet with you! Keep reading to find out about our pet-friendly lodging, recreation, and dining options.
Lodging
One of the biggest difficulties when traveling with a pet is finding a place to stay. Luckily there are numerous places in Vincennes & Knox County that allow your pets to snooze right next to you. The Econo Lodge, Quality Inn, Red Roof Inn, and TownePlace Suites by Marriot all offer pet-friendly rooms for you and your furry friends. If you’re looking for more rustic accommodation or to go camping, both New Vision RV Park and Vincennes RV Park are pet-friendly. Ouabache Trails Park also offers plenty of space for you and your pet to run around and play as well as camp. Select Air BnB’s also allow pets.
Recreation
Though many of our attractions are not pet-friendly, there are a number of places in Vincennes & Knox County that are. Hillcrest Park in Vincennes has its very own dog park! They also have picnic tables and a disc golf course so family fun can be had all around.
In fact, when on a leash, dogs are welcome at any city or county park! Pets are also welcome on the Riverwalk in downtown Vincennes when on a leash.
When on a leash, you and your dogs are welcome to walk and run around the grounds of the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park. Although your furry companion is not allowed inside of the rotunda or the visitors center, there is still much to see and learn outside. With numerous plaques detailing the history of Clark’s journey and the memorial itself, as well as beautiful views of the Wabash River, Old Cathedral, and downtown historic district — there is something for everyone to do and see here.
Dining
Many restaurants don’t allow pets inside, but some do allow pets on their patios and sidewalks for outdoor dining.
Graze 1885 allows you and your pet to enjoy their delicious food during the warmer months when they offer outdoor seating. Lic’s Deli & Ice Cream allows you and your pet to enjoy a sweet treat outdoors on their patio area too.
Before taking your furry friend to any dining facility, please call the restaurant you plan on visiting first to make sure that it is okay that they tag along.
You forgot shopping. Lowe’s and Rural King allow pets, I don’t know if others allow pets.
