What is it?
Today, Tuesday, January 25, 2022, is National Plan Your Vacation Day! It is a day to encourage Americans to plan their vacation days for the whole year at the beginning of the year, and especially to travel within the USA. It is also a day to highlight the importance of taking time off to travel to help improve your health and well-being.
Statistics
Only 1/4 Americans used all of their earned time off in 2021.
American workers on average left more than four days, or 29%, of their paid time off unused last year.
Nearly eight in ten (79%) people believe that taking a vacation/vacations is important to improving their overall health and wellbeing.
Avoiding burnout was the top-rated motivator to book a trip in the next six months. This ranked higher than travel discounts and deals being a motivator.
More than two-thirds (68%) of American workers feel at least moderately burned out, and at least 13% are extremely burned out.
