National Crossword Puzzle Day

National Crossword Puzzle Day is celebrated every year on December 21st. It celebrates the birth of the Crossword puzzle, one of the most popular and widespread games in the world. According to NationalDaysToday.com the inventor of the crossword puzzle was a journalist named Arthur Wayne, and the first puzzle appearing in the Sunday edition of the newspaper The New York World on December 21, 1913.

Crossword puzzles have been proven to have numerous benefits! Some of these include helping to delay the effects of Dementia & Alzheimer’s by strengthening the brain’s problem-solving abilities, building vocabulary, decreasing stress, and improving social bonds when in groups.
