Festival Countdown 2022


Spring on Main – June 3rd

Main Street will be open to foot traffic only for the crowd to enjoy a beautiful evening downtown. Those 21 and over can enjoy artisan beer and wine tasting, food vendors, music by local artists, and tours of the historic Pantheon Theatre now repurposed into a co-working and business incubator. The downtown art galleries, Art Space, Open Gallery, and the Northwest Territory Art Guild, will be open with new exhibits.

Electric River Jam – June 11th

Electric River Jam 2022 will feature 8 local rock and roll bands and alternative music acts on Saturday, June 11th. ERJ is being held at the Vincennes French Commons, and will also have food trucks, and beer & wine vendors. Proceeds from the festival benefit the Evan Twitty Arts Scholarship.

Gates open at 12 pm with a $20 entry fee and kids 12 and under are free. The music starts at 2 pm.

17th Annual Red Skelton Festival – June 11th & 12th

The festival will be a two-day event with all Saturday events back downtown at Patrick Henry Square on Main St. Between 1st and 2nd Street.  The parade begins at 5:30 pm on Saturday and will start at 5th and Hart Streets and finish on Main Street.  Brian Hoffman will be back as Red Skelton with a show on Saturday at 7:30 pm.

Sunday events at the museum will include panel discussions and a classic Red Skelton film.

Watermelon Festival – August 5th & 6th

Enjoy music, food, fun, and fresh, locally grown watermelon! There will be plenty of games and contests to participate in as well as the variety show, baby/toddler pageant, and Miss Watermelon Pagent.

Festival Latino – August 27th

Join the Wabash Valley Progressive group for the Festival Latino held at the Vincennes Riverwalk on August 27th. Enjoy traditional dance, food, music, and activities for children while expressing gratitude and support for the Latino community.

First City Music Festival – September 30th – October 2nd

First City Music Festival Inc was started by a group of friends and family that are dedicated to bringing music, arts, and culture to our community. Beginning with a partnership with the Spirit of Vincennes Inc., this 501c3 is working to promote tourism in the Wabash Valley and utilizes any excess funds to provide scholarship opportunities for area youth. This 100% volunteer ran organization believes in the power of music and art to bring people together and to help build a long-lasting quality of life within our community.
