Bring Knox County to Your Thanksgiving Table

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, and that means floods of out of town relatives will be swarming into Knox County, or maybe you’re going out of town for the holidays. Lucky for you, Knox County has plenty of good food you can share with all your friends and family this holiday season.

Gifts for the Host

Thinking of a gift for the Thanksgiving host can be a difficult and daunting task. If you’re headed out of town and want to give something you can only get locally, maybe some Vincennes themed gear from Moore & Miller Emporium & Diner will do the trick. Or maybe you’re looking for something sweet; in that case, maybe a variety of candy and caramel corn from Charlie’s Caramel & Candy Shop, or a nice bottle of wine (or two) from our very own Windy Knoll Winery. A box of homemade fudge from The Melon Patch is also a great way to please your host. Liven up the party with a growler (64 oz bottle) from The Vincennes Brewing Company of their own brewed beer. Pearl & Chrome Home Interiors also offers a great selection of home decor that any home owner would love.

Local Ingredients & Dishes

Looking to bring the taste of Knox County to your Thanksgiving plate? Heritage Farms Crafted Meats offers multiple Thanksgiving themed dishes, as well as special bundles for the holidays that are delicious. Apple Hill Orchard has been providing homemade spices and award winning apple cider for years. Or perhaps you’re looking for a less traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Why not opt for something from Procopio’s Pizza & Pasta or a frozen pizza from Bobes? Bringing any of these dishes to your family Thanksgiving will please any crowd.

Sweet Treats

If you’ve been assigned to bring a dessert, but don’t want to slave away in the kitchen all day, let some of your local sweet shops help you out! Jenna’s Bakehouse offers cupcakes, cookies, brownies and cakes all year round! Be sure to call ahead and get your order in before it’s too late. If you want to bring something different to your Thanksgiving, why not grab some donuts from Fossmeyer’s Bakery? A crowd favorite is always some turtles or caramel corn from Charlies (which is a holiday staple in many homes). If you want something a little more traditional, pick up a fresh homemade pie from Apple Hill Orchard.

No matter what you choose, be sure to shop local this holiday season!
