Northside Park will be sparkling with lights for the Holiday Season! The public is invited to enjoy the display from Thanksgiving Day through New Year's Day. *Northside Park is located on Highway 67 N., Bicknell, Indiana.

RING IN THE NEW YEAR by celebrating at the National Watermelon Drop in downtown Vincennes! Knox County's own quirky New Year's event features music in a heated tent from 9pm to 1am, food and drinks on site and photo opportunities with giant watermelon until 11:45pm. Watch the 1,400-pound watermelon rise high in the sky as midnight approaches, culminating with 20 Knox County watermelons dropped on the “splatform” at the stroke of midnight followed by spectacular fireworks!

Here is a good way to start the year, get exercise and fresh air at Ouabache Trails Park! Meet with local Naturalist Terri Talarek King in front of the park office at 2:00 pm Eastern on Sunday, January 12, to begin this exploratory wandering. "What's Invading the Park?", is the theme of the "Second Sunday Nature Exploration" Series. The last week of February is National Invasive Species Awareness Day. We will start earlier in the month by taking a walk to learn about the plant species that occur in the park (some to a great extent), how to recognize them, why they are a problem, and what you can do about them.
