“Choral Kaleidoscope”
Thursday, April 27th @ 7:30 p.m. (EST) A “Choral Kaleidoscope” will be presented by the Vincennes University Concert Choir and the VU Connection Choir. The “Choral Kaleidoscope” will be held on Thursday, April 27th at 7:30 p.m. (EST) in the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center Theatre, 20 Red Skelton Boulevard, Vincennes, Indiana. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend. Doors will open at 7:00 pm.
The choirs, under the direction of Mark Snyder, will perform many different forms of choral music: Madrigal, Folk Songs, Spirituals, Broadway, Gospel, Art Songs, and Ballad. The choirs will be joined by community members to conclude the concert with the Gospel Music of Robert Ray. The evening will be a kaleidoscope of choral music!

GENTRI, which is short for “The Gentlemen Trio” was established in June 2014 and is comprised of three dynamic tenors: Brad Robins, Casey Elliott, and Bradley Quinn Lever. The fourth member of the group is the award winning composer, arranger, and producer Stephen Nelson..
To date, GENTRI has released four EP’s and three full length albums, the most recent being a Christmas album, “Season of Light“. GENTRI’s third Christmas album. Almost all of GENTRI’s albums have reached #1 on various Billboard charts. The Gents are also known for their award-winning music videos, which have been featured on news outlets around the world including ABC World News, NBC Nightly News and Inside Edition. Their music videos have amassed over 200 million views on YouTube and Facebook.
GENTRI has performed all over the United States and across the globe. The Vincennes University Performing Arts Department will present “Drum Enchanted Evening”, featuring the VU Percussion Ensemble, on Thursday, April 13, at 7:30 pm in the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center Theatre. Doors will open at 7:00 pm. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend. The Theatre is located on the Vincennes Campus at 20 Red Skelton Boulevard, Vincennes, Indiana.
The VU Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Susie Jackson, consists of percussionists playing a variety of traditional and innovative percussion instruments. The group will be performing various musical styles including jazz/fusion, classical, traditional, and the more contemporary “novelty tunes” performed in the style of “STOMP”, which involve the use of unique or unusual objects as percussion instruments combined with visual performance. Music selections will include Billy Joel’s “Root Beer Rag”, arranged by David Steinquest; “Afterburn” by Nathan Daughtrey; “Three Play” by Karen Ervin; “Memphis Stomp” by Dave Grusin, arranged by David Steinquest; “The Golden Age of the Xylophone” arranged by Randy Eyles and Floyd Werle; and “Recycled” by Julie Davila. Solo mallet pieces will also be performed by VU music majors Elliott Buehl and Aiden Stewart, and special high school guest percussionist Tori Thompson from South Knox High School.
