Some of the oldest art in the world is dated between 290,000 BCE and 700,000 BCE. Over time, the reasons why art was created and what is considered to be “art” have changed; what hasn’t changed though is the awe-inspiring power that art can have upon its viewer.
Tomorrow, December 31st, is “Inspire Your Heart With Art Day.” A day to celebrate all forms of art, and how it can inspire, affect, and transcend cross-cultural boundaries.
Though Vincennes may not be home to fine art institutions like the Louver, Uffizi Gallery, or Tate Modern; we do have numerous small art galleries that showcase art of different mediums, styles, artists of different backgrounds, as well as both local and non-local artists. Vincennes is also home to multiple outdoor sculpture exhibits that have been scattered throughout the city.
