Description

Tecumseh a Native American warrior had a significant presence in Vincennes specifically during his confrontation of William Henry Harrison, Indiana Territorial Governor when he demand that Shawnee land purchases be rescinded. A hand-carved wooden sculpture depicting Tecumseh was created by artist Peter Wolf Toth, a Hungarian immigrant who developed a deep interest in Native North American culture and history.
