Shake off your winter doldrums by welcoming the first day of March and the “First Friday” Art Walk of the year! From 5:00pm – 8:00pm, the three downtown galleries and the V.U. Shircliff Gallery will be open for public to enjoy new art exhibits, beverages and light refreshments. Art Space, 521 Main, will present “Time Transfixed: Artworks by Curt Uebelhor”. Uebelhor constructs intriguing collages from a wide array of collected found materials. The Northwest Territory Art Guild, 316 Main, will showcase the work of accomplished watercolor artist Sherry Cummins. A native of Oaktown, Ms. Cummins has trained under well-known local artists Bill Updegraff, Bill Meyer and Nancy Ford. The Open Gallery, 329 Main, will present “In the Garden”, an exhibition of outstanding watercolor paintings by John DeCoursey. To celebrate the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day, the Open Gallery Players will entertain with lively Irish music. The Shircliff Gallery, First & Harrison Streets, welcomes new exhibits, “Synthesis”, the digital artworks of H. Jennings Sheffield, projects from “The Collective Glitch” and Natalie Tyree’s works from her series “Millennial Tweets”.
A number of downtown merchants and restaurants will also be open during the event including Pretty Posies, 317 Main. Sample Pretty Posie’s gourmet items and enjoy 20% off all food items during the evening!!!
