Spooky season is here and our October calendar is jam-packed with events! Fall is also the perfect time to go out and be with your family. Keep reading to see all of the family-friendly events happening this October!

October 7th – Autumn on Main Street
Welcome the fall season with food trucks, live music, art, and Touch a Truck! Stop in the participating Main Street businesses during their extended hours & find something fun for your little ones!
Autumn on Main isn’t just for kids though! There will also be beer and wine tasting for those over 21 years of age!
October 14th – Parking Lot Pumpkin Patch
Pick out and paint a pumpkin at this fun event that’s for a good cause! There will also be bounce houses provided by Hang Time Inflatables, hay rides, and a log horse ride. Entry upon monetary donation.
ALL DONATIONS will go to Knox County CASA.
October 15th – Astronomy Night
Come explore the night sky at the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park! Before GPS and modern maps, night skies were the guide for explorers on the frontier. Come to the GRC grounds to use a telescope and hear from those who work in the field of Astronomy.
October 21st – the Chili Bowl – the 4th Annual United Way Chili Cook-off
Nothing goes together better than cold weather and a hot bowl of chili. Come out to the United Way of Knox County’s 4th chili cookoff entitled the “Chili Bowl!” There will be 25 different chefs serving up their best as well as live music provided by the Buck Rogers Clark group, food trucks, kids’ games/bouncy houses, and a beer garden provided by the Vincennes Brewing Company.
October 22nd – Fall Seed Jamboree
Head to the Knox County Public Library for pumpkin painting, seed gathering, bean and corn shelling, games, snacks, demonstrations, a Junior Master Gardner activity, and a chance to meet bunnies Mirana & Kevin!
October 22nd – Halloween Fair
It’s time to get a little spooky! Take a “haunted” walk around the grounds of Vincennes State Historic Sites, check out some creepy science experiments, listen to some not-so-spooky stories, get candy for your trick-or-treat bag, and more.
October 24th – Food Trucks on the Wabash Halloween Party
The Food Trucks on the Wabash are having another Halloween party! With lots of tasty treats, live music, and multiple different costume contests you’re bound to have a good time!
October 28th – Downtown Halloween Bash
Join the Carson Thacker Agency for an evening of family fun including bounce houses, food trucks, games, and trick-or-treating at downtown businesses!
October 29th – Zombie Jeep Run
Bring the kids or some friends (or both!) and join the Old Town Players for a day of Jeep ridin’ zombie-chasin’ action! We’ll be cruising the county and making stops along the way for zombie sightings, food, and FUN!
There will be prizes for best poker hand, best zombie costume, and best-decorated jeep, as well as raffles and drawings throughout the day!
