Five Things to See and Do in March

March has blown in and if you are looking for ideas to mark on the calendar, here is a list of learning opportunities that the whole family can participate in.

“The Jester in Japan”, Exhibit – Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy

March 2 @ 10:00 am – May 16 @ 5:00 pm

The Red Skelton Museum opened a new exhibit early this month.  Donated by Red’s widow, Lothian, the new collection is a discovery into his personality revealing Red’s attraction to Japanese culture.


“Securing the Vote: Women’s Suffrage in Indiana” 100th Anniversary of Women’s Right to Vote – Knox County Public Library

March 6 @ 8:00 am – March 29 @ 5:00 pm

This important exhibit was brought to Vincennes by three different organizations working together, the League of Women Voters, Vincennes State Historic Sites, and the Knox County Public Library.  It is only available to view through March 29 and covers the history of Indiana’s women voters.

Second Friday Art Talk

March 12 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

The downtown galleries have succeeded in bringing art outside with the First City Public Sculpture program.  Sculptor and co-owner of Art Space Vincennes gallery, Andy Jendrzejewski will give a presentation on the sculptures already installed in Vincennes and the artists who created them.

“Following a Raindrop”, “Second Sunday Nature Walk” – Ouabache Trails Park

The weather is perfect for March’s “Nature Walk”!  Bring the whole family out to this fun and informative event.

Adventure Days: Lewis & Clark – Vincennes State Historic Sites

The Vincennes State Historic Sites are offering a program for children to learn about Lewis and Clark in an easy learning environment with fun hands-on activities.

In response to COVID 19, the Indiana State Department of Health recommends that you wear a mask when in public and where social distancing is not possible. Please follow all safe social distancing protocol.
