Comfort Yourself Locally

It has been a long, cold winter and there are still three more weeks before spring arrives.  We think the best remedy to get through the long and dreary days left of winter is a healthy dose of WARM COMFORT FOOD.  Some of our favorite local restaurants have exactly what you need to boost you through the rest of the season!

Dogwood BBQ offers great down-home cooking with smoked pork and chicken, ribs, ham and beans, fried chicken, home-made noodles, fresh-baked pies, breads and so much more.

Starting early in the morning Graze 1885 serves delicious breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and a broad assortment of gourmet coffees to warm you up inside and out.  There’s so much more on the menu, stop in to see what your next favorite will be!

Hearty soups, sandwiches and specialty cappuccinos are waiting for you at Pea-Fections.  Their gourmet lunch selections and amazing cheesecakes and desserts will have you coming back again and again.

You won’t leave hungry when you bring your family and friends to Montana Mike’s.  This full-service steakhouse offers USDA grade steaks, ribs, grilled chicken, fried catfish, and choice of sides for big appetites at a great value!

Quickie’s Sandwich Bar lives up to its name featuring fast service, but fans of the restaurant love the menu’s great variety. The established sub shop serves a variety of delicious submarine sandwiches on fresh-baked white, honey wheat and French bread, made to order salads and Gabe’s famous homemade Cheesy Potato Bacon Soup, available year-round!

Just North on Highway 41 in Oaktown The Melon Patch is always cooking up something new.  Breakfast starts with biscuits and gravy, sandwiches, and wraps, and for lunch the kitchen is gearing up to serve toasted deli sandwiches and salads. Mark your calendar for Taco Tuesdays and Cheeseburger Wednesdays and don’t forget to pick a pound (or two) of the Patch’s gourmet fudge on your way out!
