“Colonial French Day”, school program
Vincennes State Historic Sites, 1 W. Harrison Street Learn about early French life in Vincennes! Discover the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of colonial French Vincennes in general, as well as the daily life of a French fur trader. Walk through the Old French House (built around 1809), learn about early French life and enjoy live music from the time period.Tickets are $8/adults (ages 12+), $5/youth (ages 12 and younger), 25% discount for members.
“Germanfest” – Highland Woods Park
The Germanfest will be drive thru only this year at the Highland Woods Community Center. Enjoy an authentic German style meal and support The Christian Education Foundation.*Proceeds from this event help the Christian Educational Foundation provide support to the Vincennes Catholic Schools.
19th Amendment Centennial “Scavenger Hunt”
Through the month of August, George Rogers Clark National Historical Park is celebrating the centennial anniversary of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote with a virtual scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt features posters of important women organizers of the historic accomplishment. People who wish to take part can either pick up the crossword checklist from the park or take "selfies" with each of the 10 posters that can be found throughout the Vincennes community. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, which gave most women the right to vote. The Suffrage Centennial Virtual Block Party aims to create a fun, engaging, collaborative, and safe series of events to commemorate the decades-long fight for women to vote and celebrate our achievements. [Cancelled] – “Autumn on Main Street” – Downtown Vincennes
Welcome the beginning of Autumn during this after-hours event complete with the “First Friday Art Walk” and downtown galleries presenting new exhibits, craft beer and wine tasting, classic vehicle cruise-in, live music, great food, and children’s activities! Main Street will be cordoned off for the safety of event-goers to browse down the street and enjoy the evening. Shop at participating downtown businesses. Hope to see you there!!
