These tours will start at 1 W. Harrison St. and will run on the hour from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Vincennes and the surrounding area played a major role in the founding of our country. Learn how on this special tour of the sites guided by costumed interpreters. We’ll cover everything from George Rogers Clark’s capture of Fort Sackville to William Henry Harrison and the early Territory government laying the groundwork for statehood.

On May 16th, the community of Vincennes will gather to honor the birthday of Adam Gimbel, a visionary Bavarian Jewish immigrant whose entrepreneurial spirit shaped the landscape of American commerce. The occasion will be marked with the dedication of a state historical marker, recognizing Gimbel's remarkable journey from a Pack Peddler in 1842 to the founder of a retail empire that left an indelible mark on Vincennes, Indiana.
