Autumn on Main – Downtown Vincennes
Welcome the beginning of Autumn during this after-hours event complete with downtown art galleries presenting new exhibits, craft beer and wine tasting, live music, great food, and children’s activities! Main Street will be cordoned off for the safety of event-goers to browse down the street and enjoy the evening. Shop at participating downtown businesses. Hope to see you there!!

For the first time since 2019, public tours of the GRC Memorial Basement will take place from 1- 4 pm. Tours lasting approximately 20 minutes will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, and limited to 20 people. Tours will be of the basement of the George Rogers Clark Memorial. Before GPS and modern maps, night skies were the guide for explorers in the frontier. Come to the GRC grounds from 6:30- 9:30 pm to use a telescope and hear from those who work in the field of Astronomy. This event is a part of the National Parks Service Junior Ranger Program and is intended for children between the ages of 5 to 13, although people of all ages can participate.

The Knox County Public Library is hosting its third annual Homecoming Party on the Porch. There will be yearbooks to peruse, a Homecoming Through the Decades display created by the library staff and artwork by Vincennes Native William Green Jr. on display. The Open Gallery will show recent work by photographer Michael Mullen during the month of October. Mullen’s latest series is titled, “Squeaky Toy Variations” and is a series that Mullen says, like traditional still life painting and photography, is “rife with symbolism” through an artful arrangement of his vast collection of old but colorful plastic squeaky toys.
