Starting with a focus on a single book of poems for young people—What I See, I Can Be (Brick Street, 2022)—Laurel Smith and Barb Shoup will discuss the process of “growing a book” from the germination of ideas to development of a text and the editing process required to bring one’s written work to fruition for readers/listeners.

Gallery Talk: Restoring the Knox County Poor Asylum

Speakers Tommy Kleckner from the regional office of Western Landmarks as well as current owners Angi and Andy Barmes will also discuss the history as well as the new plans for the Knox County Poor Asylum, one of the top 10 most endangered landmarks in Indiana.
