Art Art Space Vincennes LLC, 521 Main will continue John Puffer: Photographs for Lulu, Photographs for My Daughter through December 6.  John began taking photographs at the age of 12, borrowing his mother’s Christmas present, a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye camera. He is now retired from Vincennes University after teaching there and at other colleges for over 40 years. At his daughter’s request, he has assembled a group of photographs that chronicle his career as a photographer. He shares this collection of works in this exhibition.

John will be present during the First Friday reception to speak with visitors.

Regular gallery hours Tue – Sat Noon – 5 pm.  812-887-6145

Northwest Territory Art Guild, 316 Main will host their annual Christmas Market, featuring handmade Christmas and winter gift items, cards and seasonally themed artworks in a variety of media. There will also be a “flower wall” showcasing this popular subject matter. This is an excellent opportunity to shop for unique Christmas gifts.

Regular gallery hours: Tue – Sat 11 am – 2 pm. Additional hours by appointment; contact the gallery via Facebook.

The Open Gallery 329 Main will continue the Spouse Series exhibition of works by Barry Barnes and Randi Frye. New works not shown in November will be added.

The goal of the Open Gallery Spouse Series is to explore the way two working artists influence, encourage and enlighten each other’s artistic endeavors while inhabiting the same spaces.

Sculptor Barry Barnes, who has worked on all new pieces for this event, is a former Professor of Art at VU and has shown his work around the country. He has enjoyed exhibitions at ArtSpace Vincennes and the Shircliff gallery as well as being honored with an Outdoor Installation at the Art and Design Center on the VU campus. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Art at Franklin College.

Randi Frye is chair of the Franklin College Art Department and works in Visual Communication Design, Illustration, New Media Art, including Animation and Digital Art. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions in the Indianapolis and surrounding areas.

The artists suggest that “this exhibition serves as a tribute to collaboration—not just between us as artists, but also between the various materials we work with. We firmly believe that creativity flourishes in shared spaces, where ideas can merge and evolve. Through our work, we aim to illustrate the power of art to unite and inspire.”

This show will be a good chance to pick out some one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts for the whole family!  Live Irish music will be offered by the Open Gallery Players.

Regular gallery hours: Tue – Sat 10 – 4:30 pm.  812- 881-6475

A native of southwestern Indiana, Wolfe has lived and studied in Savannah, GA (Savannah College of Art and Design), Bellingham, Washington and Bloomington, Indiana. She owned and managed the Farmer’s Daughter Bakery and Café in Princeton and the Dapper Pig in Evansville before moving to Vincennes.

Wolfe is actively involved with the Vincennes community. This year she headed up the Vincennes Eclipse Festival. She and Tiffany Muranaka manage the Knox County Public Library’s recently established Community Learning Kitchen. She is a contributing writer for the local Life Along the Wabash magazine and a member of the Historic Review Board. She and co-coordinator Matt Ramsey have assumed leadership of the Public Sculpture Program project established in 2020.
