Join the Knox County Public Library for the Ancestry 101 class. Start your family tree, research your ancestors, find historical records, and get helpful hints and tips. The class will be held in the main library building, 502 N. 7th St., Vincennes. Class size is limited and a reservation is necessary a can be made by calling 812-886-4380. An additional class will be held in July, watch the library Facebook for details. The class is hosted by: Ann Hecht, Cindy Frederick and James Mason of the McGrady-Brockman House.

The Knox County Public Library is hosting its third annual Homecoming Party on the Porch. There will be yearbooks to peruse, a Homecoming Through the Decades display created by the library staff and artwork by Vincennes Native William Green Jr. on display. The researchers at the McGrady Brockman House will also be providing tours of the American Gothic style home, and assisting visitors with genealogical research.

From noon until 2 pm Dennis Stroughmat and his band, L’Esprit Creole, will be playing on the front porch of the McGrady Brockman House–playing the music of the French speaking areas of the Ozarks and Midwest.

That evening, Cynthia Frederick and Ann Hecht will e giving a presentation about “Life in Vincennes in 1960” for the Lincoln High School Class of 1960.
