Local Halloween Events

Halloween is a time for scares, candy and family fun! Knox County has plenty of spooky (and not so spooky) events happening for you to take your ghosts, princesses and super heroes this Halloween!

“Fort Fright” Annual Halloween Program @ Fort Knox II – October 25 & 26

Attention little kids and big kids!!! “Fort Fright”, the annual Halloween program presented by the Vincennes State Historic Sites will be held Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 at historic Fort Knox II (3090 N. Old Ft. Knox Road). From 6:00pm – 7:30pm enjoy no-scare trick-treating, games, storytelling and family fun younger children are sure to enjoy. The second part of the evening, 7:30pm – 10:00pm is for older children and brave adults to experience a full-scare haunted trail. Tickets are $6/members (ages 13+), $3/youth members (ages 12 and younger); $8/non-members (ages 13+), $5/youth non-members (ages 12 and younger). Tickets can also be purchased at the event.

Downtown Trick or Treating @ Main Street, Vincennes – October 26

Bring your kiddos downtown for an afternoon of Trick-or-Treating with the downtown merchants! Children are invited to participate on Saturday, October 26 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.

5th Annual “Something’s Brewing” Halloween Festival @ North Side Park, Bicknell – October 26

Come to Bicknell for great Halloween fun!!! The 5th Annual “Something’s Brewing” Halloween Festival will be held on Saturday, October 26 at Northside Park. There is something for everyone with events including a costume contest, kids carnival, prize giveaways, co-ed softball tournament, vendor fair, a haunted house and more!

City Wide Trick or Treating @ Vincennes – October 30 & 31

City-wide trick or treating for Vincennes children will be held on Wednesday, October 30 and Thursday, October 31. Suggested hours trick-or-treating on are 5:30pm – 9:00pm on both evenings. Children should only visit homes with front porch lights on. *It is strongly suggested that costumes and candy bags have reflective tape so trick-or-treaters can be seen more easily by motorists. Parents are also encouraged to see that their child’s costume fits properly to avoid falls and have their child carry a flashlight or glow stick.

Halloween Safe Stop @ Hart Street, Vincennes – October 31

On Thursday, October 31, “Halloween Safe Stop”, trick-or-treating for children on Hart Street will be held on Thursday, October 31 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. Trick-or-Treaters should look for a lighted pumpkin in the window of participating businesses. *Vincennes City Police Officers will be assisting children cross the street.

Trunk or Treat @ Downtown Oaktown – October 31

Oaktown is inviting area youth to “Trunk or Treat” on Thursday, October 31. From 5:00pm – 8:00pm, children can enjoying trick-or-treating in downtown Oaktown!
