June 1, 2021 @ 10:00 am – July 18, 2021 @ 5:00 pm
When Red was Richard highlights moments of Red Skelton’s 16 years in Indiana as Richard Bernard Skelton. He was born in a house just across the street from the Museum, but lived many places in Vincennes. He had a love of learning and labored to help support his family. He discovered he was meant to bring laughter to others and left the Indiana town of Vincennes to become One of America’s Clowns. The exhibit can be viewed with during open museum hours and is included with admission.
*This exhibit is in cooperation with the Indiana Humanities One State/One Story theme of rural and urban home life.
