Watermelon Festival

FREE! The 2026 Knox County Watermelon Festival will take place in downtown Vincennes at Patrick Henry Square on Friday, August 7th and Saturday, August 8th. The two-day community event celebrates the region’s massive watermelon industry with live music, food and craft booths, pageants, and family contests.

- Saturday Morning Kickoff: The annual 5K Color Run/Walk, sponsored by Old National Bank.
- Family Activities: The Watermelon Eating and Seed Spitting contests.
- Entertainment: Pageants (including the Miss Watermelon Pageant), a baby/toddler contest, cutest pet contest, and free stage entertainment.
- 5K Color Run/Walk Aug. 8th at 8 a.m.
- Antique Tractor Show Aug. 7th 6-9 p.m.; Aug. 8th 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Kids Fun Zone Aug. 8th 10 a.m.
- Live Entertainment Aug. 7th 6 p.m.
- Watermelon Eating Contest Aug. 7th 7 p.m.
- Seed Spitting Contest Aug. 8th 12:30 p.m.
- Pageants Aug. 8th 10 a.m.
- Watermelon toss Aug. 8th 2:30 p.m.
