Steps to Become an Elected Offical
January 6, 2022 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
The League of Women Voters in Knox County (LWVKC) will be presenting a program to provide information regarding the “Steps Needed to Become an Official Candidate” for the 40 (yes 40) positions or official offices that will be up for election this coming November 2022.
STEPS TO BECOME A KNOX COUNTY ELECTED OFFICIAL will be an informative session on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 5:30-6:30 pm at the Fortnightly Club – 421 N 6th Street, Vincennes. This session is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Knox County.
Have you ever thought about running for office? Do you know the steps to take? Join the LWVKC at an educational event to walk county citizens interested in pursuing political office now (or in the future) through the process. Highlights will include: *a list of the 40 (yes, 40) positions/offices up for election, *qualifications for holding each position/office, *voter redistricting information, *self-nominating forms, and *calendar deadlines. This will be the perfect session for those interested in getting involved in the political process — and their families. Members of the LWVKC and David Shelton, Knox County Clerk, will be available to answer questions. Here’s your opportunity to get involved in the decision-making process of your community by seeking public office. As a LWVKC event, it will be non-partisan. Join us!
The session will be live-streamed through the Knox County Public Library website. Find additional information on the LWVKC website: www.lwvknoxcounty.org; via email at lwvknoxco@gmail.com; or by contacting League member, Vanessa Purdom, at 580-799-5537.
