“Walking the Roads”, Second Sunday Nature Walk – Ouabache Trails Park
December 13, 2020 @ 2:00 pm
Learn about the natural features of Ouabache Trails Park (just north of Vincennes, at the end of Lower Fort Knox Road) by walking all the park roads with Master Naturalist Terri Talarek King, on December 13. Meet at the park office to begin the walk at 2:00 pm Eastern. The walk will proceed along the circle drive (stopping at the Lynn Wiseman Butterfly Garden), then around both the upper and lower loop roads, taking a side trip up the campground road. It will end back up at the office area.
Much can be seen and learned from the roadsides, and participants will learn how to access any of the trails from the roads, for future explorations.
This walk will be all on hard surfaces, but with a couple of steep sections, and especially nice for those who prefer walking a hard surface instead of a trail, or who would like to bring the little ones in a stroller. A good way to end this exploratory year before heading into the winter holiday season!
Walking the Roads is the last walk in the Second Sunday Nature Exploration Walk series for 2020 (book-ending the January 2020 event walking all the trails). Information about 2021 walks will be available soon. All walks are free of charge and do not require registration. Everyone is welcome and families encouraged.

** Note on COVID-19 restrictions: The walk leader takes the coronovirus very seriously. Interpretive methods will be used for facilitating social distancing while exploring and learning. All attendees are strongly advised to wear masks for the protection of themselves and others. The April, May and June Second Sunday walks were canceled due to complications related to the pandemic. Future walks are tentative, and will operate on a “wait-and-see” basis. **
