Annual “George Rogers Clark March” (Virtual)

February 20, 2021 @ 10:00 am 1:00 pm

On February 22 of 1779, 242 years ago, soldiers under American Colonel George Rogers Clark marched 180 miles through harsh, wet winter conditions in a surprise attack on British-held Fort Sackville. This momentous victory was significant in strengthening America’s stance against the British during the Revolutionary War.  George Rogers Clark National Historical Park pays tribute to this remarkable accomplishment with the annual “George Rogers Clark March” offering enthusiastic historians a chance to retrace Clark’s steps during a 10.5 mile journey.  Due to the Pandemic, the walk will be held virtually for the safety of participants.  More details on the event are forthcoming.
