The Iron Bear Drum (also known as the Iron Bear Singers) is a traditional powwow and ceremonial drum group associated with the Pokagon Band of the Potawatomi Indians.
The group is led by Sterling BigBear III (Ponca/Ihanktonwan), who serves as the keeper of the drum named in honor of his grandfather. They perform traditional songs, social dances, and host drum sessions at cultural gatherings, historic sites, and community celebrations—such as Native American Days at Angel Mounds State Historic Site. The group provides living history, traditional singing, and rhythmic accompaniment for dancers, connecting regional communities with Potawatomi and intertribal traditions.
