DESCRIPTION:A River Runs Through It with guest speaker\, Jonathan Feavel on Saturday\, August 8\, 2026 at 2pm. \n\n\n\nJonathan Feavel is President of Grouseland Foundation and is a local attorney who has practiced law for 32 years.  He and his wife\, Amanda\, have been married for over 35 years and have two sons.  He is a National Parks enthusiast\, hikes and backpacks as often as possible\, and loves the mountains.  He and Amanda are avid kayakers and enjoy the water almost as much as the big rocks.  Jonathan is a voracious reader of local and national history as well as books on geography and nature. \n\n\n\nPlan to attend as Jonathan shares his research about the mighty Wabash and the role it has and continues to play in life along it.  Please call or text 812-882-2096 if you plan to attend so adequate seating can be assured.  This is a free program sponsored by Grouseland as a community partner with the Vincennes 250th Committee.

SUMMARY:VINCENNES GERMANFEST
DESCRIPTION:Live music by the Jay Fox Band 6:30-11:30 PM. Early entertainment at 6:15 PM will include the Color Guard of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus\, beginning at the Community Center and continuing to the Woods.  Authentic German meals will be served at the Woods\, beginning at 6 PM. Families can get the same great German meals at the Highland Woods Community from 6-8pm.  Dine in & carry out available at the Community Center.  All ages welcome. Germanfest t-shirts will be available for purchase & can be pre-ordered by calling the CEF Office 812-882-5889 or Debbie Thomas at 812-881-7449.  The event is open to the public.  Admission into the Community Center is free.  Admission into Highland Woods is $7 per person and you must be at least 21 to attend.

SUMMARY:Footloose - Youth Musical
DESCRIPTION:When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town\, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn’t prepared for are the rigorous local edicts\, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher\, determined to exercise the control over the town’s youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren\, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation\, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.
