SUMMARY:First Friday Art Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Open Gallery  \n\n\n\nThis exhibition comes from a place of deep sadness and perhaps even regret. And of course\, also\, a place of deep anger\, hurt and despair. In considering the subject\, these artists show sensitivity to the viewer while keeping an eye on how they express their hatred for another’s actions towards them. \n\n\n\nArt can be a healing process\, building forgiveness and release\, for others and for us. Art stirs us\, can make us uncomfortable\, and helps us think more deeply about ourselves and about our world. Art ultimately is simply distilled experience and vision. \n\n\n\nGallery hours:   Tuesday- Saturday\, 12:30-4:30p.m.; closed Sunday and Monday. \n\n\n\nThe Northwest Territory Art Guild  \n\n\n\nnext exhibit will be showcasing local artists work in the juried art show to be held on September 4th. \n\n\n\nThe back of the Guild houses other art by fellow members for sale. \n\n\n\nArt Space Vincennes LLC will be hosting Amy DeLap’s Past is Prologue\, an overview of artist Amy DeLap’s mixed-media work\, spanning the years 1978 – 2023. The exhibit will take place September 4th- October 23rd. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFirst Friday Art Walks take place in downtown Vincennes\, March – December. Receptions held at 3 downtown art galleries: Art Space Vincennes LLC\, Northwest Territory Art Guild\, The Open Gallery. Galleries showcase local artists\, and visitors can purchase paintings\, sculptures\, pottery\, hand-crafted jewelry\, and more. Art Walks are held from 5-8 PM Vincennes time.

SUMMARY:VINCENNES GERMANFEST
DESCRIPTION:Live music by the Jay Fox Band 6:30-11:30 PM. Early entertainment at 6:15 PM will include the Color Guard of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus\, beginning at the Community Center and continuing to the Woods.  Authentic German meals will be served at the Woods\, beginning at 6 PM. Families can get the same great German meals at the Highland Woods Community from 6-8pm.  Dine in & carry out available at the Community Center.  All ages welcome. Germanfest t-shirts will be available for purchase & can be pre-ordered by calling the CEF Office 812-882-5889 or Debbie Thomas at 812-881-7449.  The event is open to the public.  Admission into the Community Center is free.  Admission into Highland Woods is $7 per person and you must be at least 21 to attend.

SUMMARY:Footloose - Youth Musical
DESCRIPTION:When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town\, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn’t prepared for are the rigorous local edicts\, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher\, determined to exercise the control over the town’s youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren\, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation\, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.
