SUMMARY:Spirit Vincennes Rendezvous
DESCRIPTION:Take a step back in time and surround yourself with the sights\, smells\, sounds\, and tastes of the American Revolutionary War period during the Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous!  Held on Saturday\, May 29\, and Sunday\, May 30 (Memorial Day Weekend) at the French Commons (w/15+ acres of parking) festival-goers can enjoy authentic food prepared over open fires and browse through merchant tents that offer goods relative to the time period. A continuous lineup of entertainment is offered including battle re-enactments\, period music\, oxen\, children’s games\, storytellers\, and more.  Food vendors accept cash only.  Additional Rendezvous activities include FREE candlelight tours (beginning around dusk) of the nearby Grouseland\, home of 9th U. S. President William Henry Harrison\, Indiana State Territorial Sites\, and the Old French House (circa 1809). Period musician Dennis Stroughmatt will be the FREE featured entertainment at Grouselandon Saturday night from 8:00am – 10:00pm.  FREE transportation from the Rendezvous grounds to the sites is provided for those wearing Rendezvous buttons. *The French Commons is located at Willow Street and River Road.  \n\n\n\n*Gate Admission:  $10/Adult single day (13 years+); $9/Adult Advance Button (good for 2 days); $2/Children (6 – 12 years); FREE/Children (5 years & under).  Cash only accepted for gate admission.  Advance buttons for gate admission are available to purchase at the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park\, Vincennes/Knox Co. Visitors & Tourism Bureau\, and all Vincennes area financial institutions.   \n\n\n\nPandemic Safety Precautions:  Masking is encouraged for all those in a crowded area and social distancing is requested.  Masks will be available at the gates and at the information booth.  Additional sanitation stations will be available during the event.  Admission gate volunteers and front-line food booth workers will be masked for public safety\, and additional spacing will be provided for the public in dining areas and in seating for the battlefield reenactments.  However\, demonstrators\, entertainers on stage\, and soldiers on the battlefield will not be required to mask.
