SUMMARY:Second Sunday Nature Walk\, "The Trees in Autumn" - Ouabache Trails Park
DESCRIPTION:We all love the splendor of Autumn color when the trees seem to be dressed up and glowing. How do those colors come about? Learn to identify some trees by leaf\, bark\, and other traits. Look for other life associated with the trees. See how the makeup of species population changes with the environment\, from sunny areas\, to upland forest\, to lower stream areas. Find out\, even\, how some trees smell or taste! Enjoy a stroll through the autumn forests. \nMeet local Naturalist Terri Talarek King at 2:00 pm Eastern\, on Sunday\, November 8\, in front of the park office at Ouabache Trails Park. The park is at the end of Lower Fort Knox Road\, just north of Vincennes.  Trail 2 and others have some steep slopes. Depending on time and conditions\, we will walk Trail 2 to part of Trail 4\, then up Trail 3 to the upper loop road\, or we will continue on Trail 4 until its end at the lower loop road.  There is no fee or registration required.
