SUMMARY:Second Sunday Nature Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Second Sunday Nature Exploration Walks at Ouabache Trails Park will resume (tentatively) on July 12\, 2020\, with a walk to the Wabash River. \nDuring the “Animal Tracks!” walk\, participants will wander the River Fishing Trail (Trail 8) through the floodplain\, roughly parallel to the big creek\, down to the Wabash River. Walkers should be prepared for wet and muddy places! Along the way\, we will be looking for signs of the mammals\, birds\, reptiles\, and amphibians who were there visiting the watersides earlier\, and try to solve mysteries about what they were doing. \nTo begin\, meet Master Naturalist Terri Talarek King at 2:00 pm Eastern at the start of the River Fishing Trail\, which is an open area near the park road\, on the left\, shortly after entering the park’s lower area (Ouabache Trails Park is just north of Vincennes\, Indiana\, on Lower Fort Knox Road). \nIf the River Fishing Trail is not usable on July 12\, the walk will begin at “The Grotto” area and creek on the other side of the road. \n“Animal Tracks!” is part of the Second Sunday Nature Exploration series of walks for 2020. It is suitable for all ages\, and families are encouraged. No fee or registration is required.
