SUMMARY:Knox County Invasive Shrubs Replacement Program
DESCRIPTION:The Knox County Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) is happy to announce a county wide invasive shrub replacement program for 2021.  Remove invasive shrubs on your property and receive up to 3 native shrubs to replace them! See information below on invasive shrubs to remove and native shrubs available as replacements. Submit before and after pictures of the removal as well as number\, and species of invasive shrubs removed to Will Drews at willem.drews@in.nacdnet.net before the April 16th deadline to be eligible. Native shrubs will be available for pick up on specified dates in April at the Knox County Soil & Water Conservation District Office on a first-come\, first-served basis. If there are extras\, we may be able to allow participants to get more\, so don’t let that stop you from removing more invasive shrubs!   \n\n\n\nCommon Invasive Shrubs in Knox County:• Amur Honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii)• Autumn Olive (Elaeagnus umbellata)• Border Privet (Ligustrum obtusifolium)• Burning Bush (Euonymus alatus)• Japanese Barberry (Berberis thunbergii)• Multiflora Rose (Rosa multiflora)    \n\n\n\nChoose one of these Native Shrubs available as replacements with a limit of up to 3/person:  American Plum (Prunus americana)\, Ninebark ((Physocarpus opulifolius)\, Silky Dogwood (Cornus amomum).  *Shrubs are 12″ bareroot stock and can be mixed and matched as availability allows. \n\n\n\n*Please use the link below for more information on invasive and native plants.
